Werk3, Munich –
robatherm in the middle of an urban roof idyll.
From the Pfanni production site to a modern creativity forge: Where potatoes were once turned into dumplings, ideas are now being created. Werk3 is a lively hotspot for offices, art, retail, and entertainment, as well as the heart of the new Werksviertel district at Munich‘s East Train Station.
The highlight is located at the very top: The 2,500 m² (26909,78 ft 2) rooftop is not only an airy habitat for herbs and flowers – but also elevated quarters for chickens, bee colonies, and Valais black-nosed sheep. robatherm‘s expertise was also called upon to realize this green oasis in the middle of the metropolis.
robatherm supplied highly efficient air handling units for Werk3, ensuring a trouble-free coexistence of nature and technology. The eight weatherproof AHUs with integrated, controlling technology provide a total air volume of 104,690 m³ per hour.
Heat recovery via rotors and run-around coil systems ensure particularly efficient operations. Incidentally, Werk3 – as the number already suggests – is the only building on the historic site. Air technology by robatherm is also used in the other buildings.
